2012 NBA Draft Team Grades - Atlantic Division

Boston Celtics: Jared Sullinger  Fab Melo  Kris Joseph
Boston took what they hope to be their frontcourt of the future with picks 21 and 22 in the 2012 draft. Sullinger was pegged by many to be a lottery pick, before injury concerns derailed his draft stock. Melo is a legit rebounder and shot blocker, if given time he can turn into a good NBA center. Joseph is a project pick, it's yet to be seen if he can become a contributor or not. Solid draft by Boston here. GRADE: B+

Brooklyn Nets: Tyshawn Taylor  Tornike Shengelia  Ilkan Karaman
It's quite clear what Brooklyn's intentions are here. Build to win now, and that sentiment was shared to a nation audience during the 2012 draft. Taylor is a nice pickup who may find a spot in the rotation with some development. He was followed by two international players that are question marks. GRADE: D

New York Knicks: Kostas Papanikolaou
The Knicks did not own a first round pick, but snatched up Euroleage star Kostas Papanikolaou in the second round. The pick may not please NY fans now, but it may in the future. GRADE: C+

Philadelphia 76ers: Maurice Harkless Arnett Moultrie
The 2012 draft class for the 76ers will be remembered as either a great success or a complete disaster. Harkless adds another athletic swingman to the roster who can play PF or C. Moultrie fills the need of a rebounding big man, but has question marks about work ethic and character from his college days. It's yet to be seen, but for now this class looks pretty good. GRADE: B

Toronto Raptors:  Yerrence Ross  Quincy Acy Tomislav Zubcic
The Raptors had an average night, not bad but not good either. They picked up Terrence Ross at #8, which is seen by many as a reach. Ross is a sharpshooter, bur doesn't seem to fit alongside DeMar DeRozan. Quincy Acy is a high motor athlete who will find himself a spot. Zubcic is TBD, international prospect with time to grow. GRADE: C
