2012 NBA Draft Team Grades - Central Division

Chicago Bulls: Marquis Teague
The Chicago Bulls may have arguably gotten one of the steals of the draft in Marquis Teague, another super freshman from Kentucky. Teague was ranked high on many draft big boards, but wasn't looked as highly upon as other guards like Damien Lillard and Kendall Marshall. He is quick, has an improving jumpshot, and is battle tested after his year at UK. Most of all, Chicago filled a need as Derrick Rose will be injured for a good portion of next season.   GRADE: A

Cleveland Cavaliers: Dion Waiters Tyler Zeller
You have to give the Cavaliers front office some credit. They have don everything possible in order to try and appease the fans quickly after LeBron's "decision." After a good draft last year adding Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson, the Cavs have another solid class in 2012. Dion Waiters will be a great fit alongside Irving in the backcourt. He has an NBA body and skill set.  His ability to drive to the basket is arguably the best in the draft, and the fans will love his "pure" scoring ability. Tyler Zeller is another good pick. He doesn't have that "wow" factor, but he can be a productive player, and will be ready right away. GRADE: A-

Detroit Pistons: Andre Drummond  Khris Middleton  Kim English
The Pistons have been so utterly irrelevant for the past couple seasons, you figure all they could do is go up. On draft night the Pistons did improve, and possibly in a big way. Big man Andre Drummond has all the tools to become a legit superstar in the NBA. Whether he pans out or not is very much up in the air, but for now we call it a great pick. Middleton was rated as a possible first rounder before injuries hampered him, he's an interesting prospect. Kim English is a sharpshooter who would fit in on any team, good value pick. GRADE: A

Indiana Pacers: Miles Plumlee Orlando Johnson
The Pacers draft may look bad just because their division rivals draft was so good. But indeed, the Pacers draft was quite the head scratcher. Miles Plumlee taken with their first rounder is a gamble. They are banking on his pre-draft workouts to translate into the real thing, especially if Roy Hibbert leaves in free agency. Johnson is a scoring swingman who could potentially give Indiana some punch off the bench. GRADE: C

Milwaukee Bucks:  John Henson  Doron Lamb
Milwaukee has been a copy of Detroit to a lesser extent. The Bucks always seem promising, but can never turn into a true contender. In this draft they seemed to go with best available, which isn't a bad thing. Henson is a good prospect, one that could turn into a All-Star type player in the future. Only the bucks have two other Henson's on their roster in Ekpe Udoh and Larry Sanders. In the second round the Bucks added Doron Lamb, a player I think could eventually be seen as a steal. He has good length for a NBA shooting guard and has nice range with his jumper. GRADE: B-
